Shortages- Depending on the type of documents enclosed we record what we can and return the rest for fee shortages unless they have an established account with money in it that we can use.

Overages - We record them unless we are asked to return them unrecorded. If they are an established account we put their overages on a credit account for them regardless of the amount they are over. If they are over more than $10.00 and do not have an account we create one and deposit it. Under $10.00 it becomes part of the recording fees and is deposited in the County's General Fund.
